At CASA, our language class cancellation policy is simple and fair.

12-WEEK GROUP CLASSES

Missing an upcoming class? A student is entitled to a makeup class at no extra charge if CASA is concurrently holding another group course of the same level on a different day of the week, or at another time of day, provided that there is a student spot available. However, to qualify for a makeup class, the student must notify CASA of an upcoming absence on time – that is, by telephone, voicemail, text or email, at or before 7:00PM the evening prior to the day of the class to be missed.

CASA is not obligated to provide a free makeup class

  • if CASA is not concurrently holding such a group course,
  • if there is no space available in an existing group course at the same level, or
  • if the student requesting a makeup class cannot attend the class offered by CASA.

The student may pay for a private makeup class held on a date and at a time convenient to both the student and CASA. In such cases, CASA will apply a 10% discount to the regular private class rate.

How to Cancel

Classes may be cancelled via email, text, phone call or voice message.

Timely Cancellation

If a student cancels an appointment for a language class AT OR BEFORE 7:00 PM the evening prior to the day of class, he or she will not be charged for the class. In short, if you prepaid or have a class pass, the class will not be deducted.

Late Cancellation

If a student cancels an appointment for a language class AFTER 7:00 PM (7:01 PM, etc.) the evening prior to the day of class, or on the same day of the class, he or she will be charged for that class. In short, if you prepaid or have a class pass, the class will be deducted.

Absences/No-Show

If a student fails to contact his or her teacher to notify of an upcoming absence, he or she will be charged for that class.

Our Cancellation Policy Also Applies to Teachers

If for any reason your teacher cancels your scheduled language class AT OR BEFORE 7:00 PM the evening prior to the day of the class, the student will not be charged for the class. At the time of the teacher’s cancellation notification, he or she will also ask or convene with the student on a time and date to reschedule the cancelled class.

If, however, for any reason your teacher is absent to class without notice, or if he or she cancels your class appointment AFTER 7:00 PM the evening prior to the day of the class (7:01 PM, etc.), or on the same day of the class, similarly, you will not be charged for the class. In addition, CASA will issue you a class credit to be used for the next class you schedule with your teacher. Your next class will be taught to you at no additional charge!

Technical Problems During Language Classes 
Skype or Other Online Video Conferencing Platforms:

At times, online meet-up tools, such as Skype, will fail to produce an adequate connection to maintain easy and effective communication during a language class – due to problems including but not limited to poor or interrupted sound, frequent hang ups, and poor video quality or loss of video image. In such cases, if any of these problems occur and persist, the student and teacher will convene to meet again at another time and/or day to try again; and the student will not be charged for the interrupted class. The student will be charged only for the next class completed without technical disruptions and for all subsequent similar classes.
